Visit to Iduhatty & Kothamudi – A Model of Community Unity and Development

Today, Mr. Ravi and I visited Iduhatty and Kothamudi villages, where we met the villagers and explained the objectives and functioning of the Gawa Trust 1000×200 Medical Scheme.

During our visit, we were deeply impressed by the remarkable system followed by the people of Iduhatty village. Their spirit of unity and collective responsibility is truly commendable.

In Iduhatty:

  • If any villager is hospitalized with a severe disease, each household contributes ₹500 towards medical expenses.

  • If someone from their grammam is hospitalized, each household contributes ₹200 to support the patient.

  • The village maintains a common tea leaf shed, jointly managed by the villagers.

  • They also run a well-maintained village maligai (grocery) shop, known for its good quality and proper management.

This kind of organized, community-based development is rare and inspiring. I strongly feel that Iduhatty stands as a model village where unity has translated into meaningful progress.

Special thanks to Village Headman Mr. Bellie Gouder (Retired BT Teacher) for his leadership and guidance in bringing such developments to the village.

Let us learn from such examples and strengthen unity in every village for the welfare of our community.
